Friends of the Urban Communication Foundation
Dear Friends,

When the Urban Communication Foundation was founded in 2005 we were unique as a professional organization in our commitment to working to understand communication patterns in the urban environment. We encouraged collaboration between communication scholars, urban planners and policy makers. In the intervening years, largely through the efforts of supporters like you, we have accomplished many things. Our awards programs, in partnership with other major professional associations, have become nationally recognized. Our research grants have helped many new and established scholars to initiate and expand innovative projects. Our seminars have attracted a wide spectrum of scholars and have led to the publication a number of critically acclaimed publications. Most importantly we have discovered that colleagues from across many fields have learned the importance of what we do and seek our expertise and collaborations as we collectively face the challenges presented by global urbanization

We are now in beginning a number of new initiatives including re-tooling our website (http://urbancomm.org/), establishing new professional collaborations, expanding our outreach and increasing fund raising activities. But our most important activity is reaching out to you, those who have been active in UCF activities and have been part of our work.

We simply ask that you complete the accompanying form and become a “Friend of the Urban Communication Foundation”. Your response will help us to connect you to programs and activities that directly relate to your interests. Getting to know your current research and professional activities will also help us to better serve you in terms of designing the website and planning our program activities. We see reaching out to our “Friends” as a way of creating a more active and vibrant network of those committed to urban communication.

So please take a few minutes to complete the form. Also, please forward this information to those you who share our interests. If you have any question please contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.
